Preston North End fans react to managerial appointment

Earlier today, the72 reported that Preston North End had appointed Alex Neil as the new manager, following the departure of Simon Grayson.

Grayson left the club late last week to join fellow Sky Bet Championship side Sunderland, and Preston have wasted no time in appointing a new boss.

The Lilywhites will become the 36-year-old Scottish manager’s third club, having previously enjoyed spells Hamilton Academical and Norwich City.

Neil has a good record overall, winning promotion with both of his previous clubs.

Speaking about signing a contract at Deepdale, Neil was thrilled to get it all sorted.

He said: I’ve looked at this opportunity and seen that the club has made progress for four years running and I am looking forward to trying to continue that progress.

“It is a really good challenge for me. I have been involved in a lot of big games in a short space of time and hopefully we can be involved in a lot more big games here at Preston North End.”

North End fans were quick to take to Twitter following confirmation of the appointment.
