Promotion hopefuls Blackburn Rovers hoping for double striker deal

Sky Bet League One promotion hopefuls Blackburn Rovers are hoping to conclude deals for two strikers during the next few days according to the Lancashire Telegraph.

Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has been working tirelessly in the transfer market to assemble his squad for the new season and the 53-year-old Saltburn born boss is hoping for good news in his pursuit of two attacking targets.

It has been reported that Mowbray has submitted transfer offers for two strikers and is waiting to hear back on both transfer bids. It is thought that Blackburn Rovers have a good chance of landing both players and it is hoped that the club will make the breakthrough during the coming week.

The Lancashire club are looking to immediately bounce back to English football’s second tier following their relegation last season. Rovers won their final match of the season at Brentford but were cruelly denied survival on goal difference with both Nottingham Forest and Birmingham City being the fortunate ones to avoid the drop.

Rovers’ main attacking threat currently sits with strikers Danny Graham and Anthony Stokes however both players have recently been linked with moves away from Ewood Park. The former Premier League champions were the seventh lowest scorers in their division last season.
