Sky Bet has priced up a market to see where the most likely destination for Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing is next season. He has been informed by newly appointed manager Garry Monk that he does not feature in his plans. So where will he be playing his football once the new campaign gets underway?
Whilst there are a number of clubs who have been linked with him, there doesn’t appear to be any concrete interest at this stage. Of course, there is still the possibility that Downing will remain at the Riverside Stadium, electing to fight for his place. He is currently priced at 7/2 to do so, and in the betting, there is only one club priced shorter to sign him up.

The Terriers are still on a real high after achieving the unthinkable in securing their spot in next season’s Premier League for the first time. David Wagner has already been busy adding new faces to his squad since that play-off final triumph over Reading, and more are to follow.
Would Downing fit into his system? Yes. The German loves to play with out and out wingers, roles which Elias Kachunga and Rajiv van La Parra played more often than not last season. Huddersfield have very few players in their squad with actual Premier League experience and Downing would certainly be able to provide that. The 32-year-old has played for the likes of Liverpool, West Ham, Aston Villa and of course Middlesbrough at the highest level.
