Leeds United want to sign Chelsea and ex-Monaco midfielder on loan

According to the Daily Star, Leeds United want to sign Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic on loan for this upcoming season.

The 22-year-old has spent the last three years on loan at Elche, Monaco and AC Milan, making a combined total of 90 appearances, scoring a combined total of 15 goals.

With the midfielder’s experience in three of Europe’s top divisions over the past three seasons, he would be a huge signing for the Elland Road outfit and could have an enormous impact on the Championship.

Recently, Leeds United have been looking attract some fantastic new attacking signings to strengthen their side for the upcoming season. The signing of Polish international Mateusz Klich from FC Twente was a really strong statement of intent and in recent weeks, there have been rumours that Leeds United are keen on signing former Real Madrid youngster Samuel Saiz.

Pasalic began his career at Hajduk Split and scored 11 goals in 39 games, a highly impressive total from the centre of midfield. Pasalic signed for Chelsea in 2014 for £3 million and his value is likely to have increased dramatically since then.

When the midfielder went on loan to Monaco, he was actually part of the loan agreement that took Radamel Falcao to Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder was named in Croatia’s 30-man list for the 2014 FIFA World Cup but failed to make the squad for the tournament. He has played 12 times for Croatia’s under-21 side, scoring six goals and has also featured twice for Croatia’s senior national team.

Leeds United would make a huge statement of intent if they tried to sign the young midfielder but with Lazio, Valencia and AC Milan all linked with signing the midfielder, it could be an incredibly difficult task for the Whites to bring the midfielder to West-Yorkshire.
