Leeds United are trying to finalise an agreement by the end of this week for Spanish striker Samuel Saiz with the Whites being in an “advanced stage of talks” with Huesca according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The transfer debacle around Saiz is set to be resolved in the coming days with it appearing Leeds United have more-or-less won the battle for the striker.
Saiz has been hot property in this transfer window, with Eibar, Real Betis and several other La Liga sides circling like sharks for the attacker. It’s been widely reported from sources in Spain such as that Leeds United and Huesca have been locked in negotiations with each other but these discussions seem to have entered an advanced phase.
Saiz’s agent Juan Moreno admitted to the Yorkshire Evening Post that the West-Yorkshire side had been attempting to sign the attacker and that the attacker himself was very interested in a move to the Whites.
The 26-year-old scored 13 goals last season in 48 games for Spanish side Huesca and after spending time at both Real and Athletico Madrid, he boasts an impressive pedigree.
Leeds United have been trying to reinforce their side since the arrival of Thomas Christiansen and bolster their attacking options. The arrival of Mateusz Klich on a three-year deal offered Whites fans some hope and excitement that this is going to be a good season for the West-Yorkshire club.
With £3m rated Saiz’s move to Elland Road drawing closer and closer, it is reported that Leeds are hoping the attacker will undergo a medical early next week.
