Who is Bradford City target Jake Reeves?

Midfielder Jake Reeves is a 24-year-old Tottenham Hotspur youth academy product who stands at 5’8. In 2009 Reeves made the switch from Tottenham to Brentford, the club where he would begin his senior career two years later.

Following a two-year scholarship at Brentford, a period in which he captained the youth team, Reeves was given his first-team debut off the bench by then manager Nicky Forster in the very last game of the 2011/12 season. The game finished 4-4 against Huddersfield Town. The end of this season saw Reeves handed his first professional contract with new boss Uwe Rosler describing him as a “big option”.

Following his breakthrough into first-team football, Reeves went on to make 46 appearances and scored one goal in his time at Brentford. The then youngster found himself shipped out on loan twice by the London club to both St Albans City and AFC Wimbledon, a club he would later return to. Reeves eventually departed Griffin Park by mutual consent in August 2014. Speaking about Jake Reeves, manager Mark Warburton at the time said:

“He needs to play week-in, week-out. With the level of player we have here, that opportunity is not available at Brentford now”.

After leaving Brentford, Reeves signed for League One side Swindon Town and seemed optimistic of things to come, saying:

“I’ve got a lot of energy to give to the team and you’ll hopefully see some good passing ranges too. I also hope to score a few goals”.

However, things didn’t quite go to plan at Swindon. Reeves made just three starts in 12 appearances, scoring one goal, during his time at Swindon and was released in December 2014 when his short-term deal expired.
