Bolton Wanderers plan double swoop on West Ham United

Bolton Wanderers are planning to sign Reece Burke and Josh Cullen on loan from West Ham United according to a report from the Bolton News.

With Bolton now back in the Sky Bet Championship following their promotion last season, they are looking for players who will keep them in that league. But because their budget isn’t going to be massive, they will need to look for bargains and loan deals to make sure their squad is as competitive as possible. And so Bolton have been looking to two players that their head coach Phil Parkinson has signed before.

While at Bradford, Parkinson was able to sign both Burke and Cullen on loan. He is more familiar with Cullen, who was voted as the 31st best player in the EFL, having signed him initially in 2015, having a season to work with him before he left to become the Bolton manager. Even with the managerial change, Cullen would return for another loan spell the year after. Burke had also signed for Bradford in 2015 and had an impressive year with the squad, though unlike Cullen he elected to move to Wigan Athletic last summer.

But now Parkinson wants to sign both players again, this time for Bolton. It seems like they will be able to wrap up a deal for Burke easily as West Ham are willing to let him go out on loan, though signing Cullen may be trickier. They were very impressed with his form at Bradford and are considering giving him a chance in the first team, meaning Bolton may have to wait to see if they can sign him.
