Birmingham City want to sign Liverpool starlet on loan

Birmingham City are interested in signing Liverpool’s Ryan Kent on loan according to a report from the Birmingham Mail.

The 20-year-old winger may have never made a senior appearance for Liverpool but he has already been marked as a potential star for the future. He was great on a loan spell with Coventry City and then made the step up to the Sky Bet Championship with ease after he was key to Barnsley achieving a safe mid-table position while on loan there. The Tykes were expected to be in a battle against relegation, but never looked like being relegated with Kent being one of the main reasons they were able to stay away from the bottom three.

But while Kent impressed on that loan spell, it doesn’t seem like he will be making his big break into the Liverpool first team just yet. This means that he is set to go back on loan again and this has already interested a few teams, with Leeds United recently being linked with a move. However Birmingham are now in the race to sign Kent on loan as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of what is an exciting season for them.

The Blues have had an interesting summer with their head coach Harry Redknapp planning to make a number of eye-catching transfers, with some reports suggesting that they are set to sign former England captain John Terry. While signing Kent may not get the same headlines, it would be a very useful signing going into this season.
