Blackburn Rovers chase Gillingham star

League One Blackburn Rovers are reportedly in talks to sign Bradley Dack, according to Sky Sports News HQ.

However, it is believed that the fee is the stumbling block in this deal going ahead. Blackburn are not willing to pay more than £400k initially with negotiated add-ons but the Gills are refusing to sell Dack on the cheap. They want a fee of £600k up-front with add-ons potentially rising to £1.2 million for the 23-year-old who has just one year left on his contract.

Dack has been a shining star in Gillingham’s team over the last couple of seasons and was of interest to a number of big clubs last summer including the likes of Brighton and reportedly Crystal Palace. However, a move never materialised. But this summer Dack is once again in the spotlight and of interest to numerous clubs with Blackburn seemingly the one to turn their interest into a concrete move for the midfielder.

Blackburn are new to League One following their relegation from the Championship last season. While off-field issues continue to surround the club, Tony Mowbray will be keen to strengthen his ranks and maximise their chances of bouncing back to the Championship at the first time of asking.

In his time at the Gills so far Dack has made 185 appearances, scoring 38 goals in the process.

It is now a waiting game for both sets of fans to see if Blackburn stump up and meet the Gills’ valuation. Even if they don’t, Dack is hot property and most likely has a number of clubs keeping tabs on him. Whether it’s Blackburn or interest from elsewhere, Gillingham will certainly face a battler to keep hold of Dack this summer.
