Blackburn Rovers interested in signing QPR midfielder

Blackburn Rovers are interested in signing QPR’s Ben Gladwin according to a report from West London Sport.

The 25-year-old midfielder was seen as a coup for QPR when they signed him back in 2015 as he seemed like he could be a potential star after his great performances for previous club Swindon Town. However things haven’t worked out for him at Loftus Road as he has struggled to hold onto a place in the first team. He has actually played more when being loaned out, either on his three separate returns to Swindon or his temporary stay at Bristol City.

The fact Gladwin has struggled to get into the first team after all these loan spells suggest that QPR would be willing to sell the former non-league midfielder and this is where Blackburn are hoping to sign him. Their head coach has already made some headway as the club look to improve their squad to make sure that their stay in Sky Bet League One is a temporary one and now he is looking at Gladwin, someone who was key when Swindon reached the play-off final back in 2015.

The report doesn’t say how much this deal could be, but Blackburn would be hoping to snap up Gladwin for cheap considering that he will just a burden on the QPR wage bill at this point. If they can’t afford him, they may simply try to sign him on loan like has happened many times with the midfielder before, even though he would most likely want to leave permanently if first team football was on offer.
