Sheffield Wednesday fans are laughing at the idea that Middlesbrough have made a £3m bid for Keiren Westwood.
Over the last few years, Westwood has become a star player for the Owls and one of the fan favourites. He has won Player of the Season awards, matched records that have stood for decades and has put in performances that have made people wonder why on earth he is still in the Sky Bet Championship. So it is no wonder that teams are interested in signing him.
This year, it is Middlesbrough who are looking to sign Westwood and they have made a £3m bid as they look to get him to switch to Riverside. But this is a potential deal that is not even being taken seriously by Wednesday fans as they say that it is no way near enough money and that if he was to leave the club, he certainly would not be going to a team that is in a similar position to them.
😂😂😂😂 @WestwoodKeiren is a @swfc legend already! Why would he leave for a smaller, lesser club when he will help us win promotion! #fansNo1

So yes, Wednesday fans simply think it is funny that Middlesbrough have made a bid for Westwood, well a bid they don’t believe is anyway near his value anyway. Of course the fans do acknowledge how good the Republic of Ireland international is and that if they were to lose him, it would be a huge blow for a team that is determined to get promoted after coming so close for the last two seasons. But they also mock Middlesbrough for this bid.
Selling @WestwoodKeiren would be a catastrophe @swfc
