Leeds United signing Klich could pave the way for midfield departure

Earlier today, the72 reported that Leeds United had confirmed the signing of Poland international Mateusz Klich.

The midfielder joins the Sky Bet Championship side from dutch club FC Twente, and has signed a three-year-deal.

The Pole has become Leeds United’s second signing of the season, and the first under the leadership of new boss Thomas Christiansen.

And although Whites supporters are happy with their new signing, it could potentially lead to disappointment further down the line.

It was widely acknowledged that the centre of midfield was where Leeds United needed to strengthen.

They have done that, but could the signing of Mateusz Klich pave the way for one of Leeds’ current midfielders to leave the club?

Club captain Liam Bridcutt and 18-year-old wonderkid Ronaldo Vieira have both been linked with a move away from the club, and now Klich has joined, the chances that one of the two may leave have certainly increased.

Bridcutt has been heavily linked with a move to Middlesbrough already this summer, with reports suggesting that he wants to link up with Garry Monk once again.

Monk made Bridcutt captain when he arrived at Elland Road last June.

On the other hand, Ronaldo Vieira has been linked with a move to a number of top-end Premier League clubs.

The top flight sides have been unnamed, but reports in the English media have suggested that Vieira could be available for a fee in the region of £10million.

Leeds United are believed to want to keep hold of both players, but the signing of Klich could mean that either Bridcutt or Vieira may be looking for a way out of the club.
