Peterborough United: Five fixtures to look out for this season

The EFL fixtures for the 2017/18 season were released this morning and Peterborough United fans found out when their team would be playing against certain clubs. The Posh will be hoping for a better season this time round, after mid-table mediocrity in the previous campaigns. It will be Grant McCann’s second season in charge at the ABAX Stadium, and hopes are high of a positive season. Here are a look at five key fixtures to look out for in Peterborough United’s season:

Peterborough United Vs Plymouth Argyle (05/08/17)

It may not be the most glamourous of opening fixtures, but at least Peterborough United finally have a game at home. For the past three seasons, the Posh have been drawn away at Rochdale for the first game of the season, and it will be a pleasant relief to both players and fans that their first game this campaign will be at the ABAX Stadium. Plymouth will not be an easy game by any means, but it will be a chance for Posh to show their fans that they mean business this season, and get three points on the board nice and early.

Northampton Town Vs Peterborough United (26/08/17)

This fixture is the big one for Peterborough United fans. A trip to rivals Northampton Town is always a big date on the calendar, and this year it will be played on a summers day! The two clubs do not get on with each other, and the chance to get one over on your rivals early in the season is always exciting. Last season’s fixtures both ended in Posh victories, and the Peterborough faithful will be hoping for much the same this time round.
