Bristol City set to miss out as Chelsea wonderkid agrees Premier League move

Bristol City are set to miss out on a deal to bring back Tammy Abraham back to Ashton Gate, with the Chelsea loanee finalising a loan move to Premier League outfit Swansea City, according to The Sun.

Abraham became a household Championship name last season after bagging 26 league goals on loan from Premier League giants Chelsea at Lee Johnson’s Bristol City, where he almost single-handedly kept The Robins up after a tense relegation dogfight.

After such an impressive debut season, interest has naturally been high in the 19-year-old, and newly promoted sides Newcastle United and Brighton were both looking to snap up the England youth international on loan for the coming season.

Reports even emerged last week that Abraham was in talks with Chelsea’s Dutch feeder club, Vitesse Arnhem over a potential move to the Eredivisie, but now news has surfaced that a loan move to another Premier League club has been arranged.

With Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi ahead of Abraham in the pecking order at Chelsea, another season on loan will give him the experience needed to help become a top class Premier League striker, and Swansea will be Abraham’s destination.

Winning the race for the towering 6 foot 5 inch tall striker will be a huge boost for Swansea boss Paul Clement, who is looking to build a squad around Icelandic maestro Gylfi Sigurdsson, whose assists and goals last season kept the Swans up.

As for Bristol City, Lee Johnson now has a tough job on his hands to fill the hole left by the Chelsea loanee ahead of next season.
