Five strikers who could be on Leeds United’s transfer shortlist

Yesterday, the72 confirmed reported that new Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen had confirmed that he had a list of players in mind that he was going to attempt to sign during the summer.

Christiansen was appointed late last week, and appeared in front of the media for the first time on Monday. (June 20).

With a new manager comes new transfer rumours, but who could be on the Spaniard’s shortlist?

We have previously looked at 10 potential replacements for Chris Wood if he is to leave the club, but will Christiansen be interested in any of them?

We take a look at five strikers who could potentially make the cut:

1) Caleb Ekuban: The Ghanaian striker has been linked with Leeds United for a number of weeks now, with the rumour first appearing before the Whites had even appointed a new manager. And despite the appointment of Christiansen, it is still a very prominent rumour. The striker scored 17 goals whilst on loan in Albania last season, but is currently on the books of Italian Serie A side Chievo. However, it seems that Ekuban’s time at the Italian club is over, and he could be the perfect replacement for Chris Wood, if the New Zealand striker is to leave Elland Road. Leeds are not the only club interested in the Ghanaian striker however, with Christiansen’s former side APOEL also rumoured to be looking at the front man.
