One of the big transfer sagas of last summer was whether or not Fernando Forestieri would leave Sheffield Wednesday. He refused to travel with the squad to the match against Norwich City with Derby County and Newcastle United circling, yet some how the Owls pulled it out of the bag and kept their star man.
This summer though the rumours are back and once again many believe that Wednesday could end up losing Forestieri. And if the forward is looking to stay under the radar and not provoke a reaction from a fanbase that was baying for his blood after his no-show in Norfolk, he’s going the wrong way about it.
Forestieri yesterday posted an image on his Instagram story of him at a Watford shopping centre. Considering that this is his former team and one the bookies have tipped to sign him, this provoked a lot of discussion that he is set to return to the Hornets.

Forestieri uploading his Instagram story from Watford will most likely spark more rumours…

Of course, this might be seen as jumping to conclusions. Forestieri spent some time in Watford and as it was his first home in England, it’s probably a nice place to return to when you can. After all, those of us who went to university like heading back to the town he studied in because of the nostalgia rush, why wouldn’t it be the same for footballers?
To their credit, some fans realised that a simple Instagram post doesn’t mean Forestieri is on his way out.

Forestieri still has a place in london, every break from the team he goes there.
In the absence of a story, we will create one.

So is this post an indication of a move? We’ll soon find out.
