Sheffield Wednesday fans are excited about the reports that the club might sign Oliver Burke from RB Leipzig.
Yesterday, there were reports that Wednesday were interested in signing former Nottingham Forest winger Burke on loan. While he was a big name signing for Leipzig last summer due to them shockingly beating a number of Premier League clubs to his signature, he has struggled to hold down a first team spot and a temporary move away could be the ideal thing to kick-start his career again.
Burke could be an ideal addition to the Wednesday squad as well. The lack of quality wingers has been an obvious weakness for the last two years as since Carvalhal has took charge, the only wide man to come in and have positive impact has been Ross Wallace. There is a reason why Barry Bannan has been playing out wide in recent weeks.
So Wednesday fans have got excited about the possibility of signing someone who made a massive impact on the Sky Bet Championship back when he was playing in Forest.
Oliver Burke looked a real talent when he broke onto the footballing scene at Forest. Decent business if it gets done #swfc

Oliver Burke would be a superb signing. Exactly what we need. One of the few wingers who can play narrow but is also a massive threat #swfc

Hopefully the club can pull it off. #swfc

While fans are excited about the chance of signing Burke, calmer heads have seen that this move may not happen and it would take a tremendous effort from the club to make it happen. Burke would have a chance of breaking into the Leipzig first team and that would mean Champions League football for him next season after they finished 2nd in the Bundesliga.
Our fans think were gunna sign burke whos got champions league football next season, not a chance.#swfc

I don't think that there's much in the Oliver Burke rumour. If RB Leipzig don't want to sell him, there's only a TINY possibility. #swfc

So maybe Wednesday won’t sign Burke. But if they do, the fans would be very happy.
