European giants Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munch and both Milan sides have interest in Sunderland’s Joel Asoro, according to the Chronicle Live.
Asoro made his début for the first-team last season at the tender age of 18, breaking into the Sweden under-21 side too, and his promising performances have led to a number of Europe’s élite sides tracking the Black Cats winger.
With bags of pace available it seemed like Asoro would be used in the Premier League in a last-ditch attempt to survive relegation. However, David Moyes showed reluctance with the young talent, with Asoro only getting 4 appearances in all competitions.
Performances for the Wearside club’s under-23 side led to Asoro being nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Year and European Golden Boy awards respectively, earning a reputation as one of the latest rising young talents in Europe.
Those linked to the young winger include both Manchester and Milan clubs, Chelsea, PSG, Bayern Munich and many others. While it will be unlikely that Asoro will be able to break into the European giants’ first-team, he may see it as a great chance to improve his development as a player.
It is reported that Arsenal have already placed an offer of £3million for the tricky winger but that price tag for Asoro, who has two years on his current contract at the Stadium of Light remaining, is surprisingly low following the expectations surrounding his potential.
Asoro is currently on international duty in Poland with Sweden in the U21 European Championships. He missed the opening group game against England through suspension but the previously mentioned clubs are expected to be following his performances in the next few matches.
