Nottingham Forest told they must pay £7m for Fulham midfielder

Nottingham Forest have been told by Fulham that they must pay £7m if they want to sign Kevin McDonald according to a report on Page 63 of the June 18th print edition of The Sun on Sunday.

Over the last few weeks it has become apparent that McDonald is becoming a wanted man. Reports at the start of this month suggested that both Brighton and Hove Albion and Scottish giants Rangers were interested in signing the 28-year-old midfielder, with this report going on to say that both of these teams wanted to sign him for £2m.

And now the latest team interested in signing McDonald are Nottingham Forest, who are looking to improve their squad after only avoiding relegation on the final day of last season. But even though they are set to get a decent sized budget to make sure they don’t come that close to the drop again. they will most likely be very startled by the price tag that Fulham have put onto him.

The Cottagers have told Forest and any other team that are interested in signing McDonald that they will have to pay £7m if they want him to switch sides. And this may well rule Forest out of the race to sign the former Wolves midfielder. They were planning to spend just £3m on on the midfielder so they want McDonald to become a regular presence at the City Ground, they are going to have to more than double what they were initially wanting to pay.
