In a shock turn of events, the Daily Mirror has reported that newly appointed Middlesbrough manager Garry Monk is interested in signing Charlie Taylor from Leeds United when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The print version of the newspaper can be seen below, and reported that Monk is looking to reunite himself with the young Leeds United defender.

Charlie Taylor is not the only Leeds United player that Garry Monk is interested in taking.

The former Whites manager is also looking to make a move for club captain Liam Bridcutt, as well as secure the signature of Kyle Bartley, who spent last season on loan with him at Elland Road.

Monk is not the most popular figure in Leeds at the moment following his resignation on May 25, but if he is to sign a number of Leeds United stars, the reception he will get when he takes his Boro side to Elland Road could be ten times worse.

Many Leeds United fans are now beginning to create theories about Monk’s time at Leeds United, and one of the latest is that him and Charlie Taylor had plotted the defender’s absence from the final game of the Sky Bet Championship season.

Taylor refused to play in Leeds United’s 1-1 draw at Wigan Athletic on the last day of the regular season, and Whites supporters are beginning to get a bit suspicious.

This Leeds United fan thinks that Garry Monk has been rather sneaky in the way he has handled things.
