10 potential replacements for Chris Wood should he leave Leeds United

Last season New Zealand international Chris Wood won the Championship golden boot as Leeds United finished 7th under the reigns of Garry Monk.

It was a disappointing end to an incredible season under the former Swansea City manager, and the disappointment was topped off when Monk resigned following a dispute with new owner Andrea Radrizzani over his proposed visions for the club.

Wood’s 27 goal return in the league made him the talisman and a fans favourite at the Yorkshire club, but many fans criticised The Whites’ supposed dependence on the 25-year-old, with the next top scorer finishing on just 6 goals in all competitions.

Inevitably after such an impressive campaign, interest in the former Leicester striker is high, and whilst newly-promoted Huddersfield Town have already been ruled out of the running, the likes of West Brom and Crystal Palace still remain keen on bringing him in.

Leeds are holding out for around £15 million for their targetman, but with a long summer ahead, Thomas Christiansen will have a huge job on his hands in trying to keep him at the club for the start of the new season.

It’s looking highly likely he could be on his way out of the club, but should he leave, Radrizzani will be keen to reinvest the significant transfer funds received. Here are 10 potential replacements for the 6 foot 3 inch striker should he depart the club this summer.
