Get West London understands that Spanish La Liga side Real Betis are keen on snapping up midfielder Jozabed from Fulham. The player spent the second half of last season out on loan at Celta Vigo and has set his heart of returning to Spain full time.
The Sky Bet Championship club are also said to be keen on the playing moving on. He has proved to be a disappointing recruit to Slavisa Jokanovic’s side since joining last August, starting just two matches. Fulham are now happy for him to go full time and won’t entertain another loan deal anymore for Jozabed.
Celta did have a clause inserted into the original loan deal stating that they could sign him permanently. However they have decided against this because the price is too high, plus they have endured a managerial change over the summer too. This therefore opens the door to Betis, managed by Quique Setien, who was appointed to the role late last month.
Betis are also said to be based around an area that the 26-year-old midfielder is keen to relocate too back in his native home country. He made over 20 appearances for the Celta last season, including in their run in the UEFA Europa League semi-finals, where they were eventually defeated by eventual competition winners Manchester United. He of course has much more experience of the Spanish game from his time at Rayo Vallecano, where he impressed enough for Fulham to sign him up in the first place. He looks to have played his last game at Craven Cottage, which came all the way back last October.
