Nottingham Forest defender says “hell no” to rumoured move

Nottingham Forest defender Armand Traore has quashed any rumours of him leaving the City Ground in a comment on his Instagram page, according to the Nottingham Post.

The 27-year-old was named as part of Forest’s retained list earlier in the week, alongside Britt Assombalonga, Jorge Grant and promising young striker Ben Brereton who all confirmed their allegiance with the Nottinghamshire-based outfit.

Traore had signed a three-year deal when he joined last summer, but his inconsistent season led to the defender being heavily linked to a move away from the almost-relegated club, with Turkish side Kayserispor being speculated as a possible destination among numerous other potential clubs. But Traore has flattened any transfer rumours by stating “hell no mate #yourreds” and responding to “don’t leave Armand, you reds all day #NFFC” with “I’m not mate.”

Traore’s debut season at the City Ground was hampered by numerous injuries, with the former Queens Park Rangers and Arsenal defender making just thirteen appearances in all competitions all season.

The 27-year-old, whose last appearance came in the 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers on 14th April, will join up with the Forest team-mates next week when Mark Warburton’s squad return for pre-season training ahead of the upcoming 2017-18 Sky Bet Championship season.

The versatile left-side player making just a dozen appearances in the Championship for Nottingham Forest, failing to net in his 799 minutes in the second tier of English football.
