Nottingham Forest close to wrapping up £1m deal for Hibernian striker

Nottingham Forest are nearing the completion of a deal to sign Hibernian’s Jason Cummings for £1m according to a report from Telegraph journalist John Percy.

The 21-year-old striker has been highly rated up in Scotland for a while and was in stunning form for the Hibs this season as they competed in the Scottish Championship. He would go on to score 23 goals in 39 appearances and having proven himself to be a player with a great goalscoring ability as well as being rather young meaning he has plenty of potential to get even better, several teams from south of the border became interested in signing him.

There were some reports that Wolves were interested in signing Cummings earlier in the summer but it appears that it will be Forest beating to them to the signing of this Scottish starlet. It was reported earlier this week that the East Midlands team were the most likely team to sign him and that deal is reportedly close to being completed.

John Percy has said that almost everything in the deal has been wrapped up. A fee of £1m has been agreed between the two clubs, Forest will believe that this is a bargain if Cummings can translate his form to England considering the inflated cost of strikers proven in the Sky Bet Championship, and that a medical has also been completed. The deal is now in the final stage of negotiations and as long as they go well, the move should be completed in the next few days.
