Hull City looking to bring in Chelsea defender on loan

Kalas made his Premier League debut for the Blues back in 2014, with many hoping he could push on and establish himself as a regular in the Chelsea team, but things haven’t quite worked out at Stamford Bridge, and the Czech centre-half finds himself on the verge of an exit.

The Czech impressed out on loan with Middlesbrough and Fulham the past seasons, helping the pair to automatic promotion and a Play-Off semi-final respectively, giving away an unfortunate penalty which proved costly in the latter.

Should Fulham have gone on to win the Play-Offs, Kalas’ loan agreement included an obligation to buy, however, defeat to Reading scuppered the deal to bring him back to the club.

Fulham have not yet made a bid to bring him back to Craven Cottage as of yet, but with a lack of defensive backups, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Slavisa Jokanovic go in pursuit of a reunion with the Chelsea defender.

With just one year remaining on his contract at Chelsea, the London club are willing to listen to offers for a permanent transfer. At 24 years of age, if Kalas was going to break into the Chelsea first team, it would have already happened, and for every Victor Moses story, there are many more who fail to make the grade.

However, Hull could offer the former Vitesse defender a lifeline, and with Harry Maguire almost certain to depart the club, Hull could be the perfect place for Kalas to kickstart his career.
