Hull City are working alongside Arsenal to bring CSKA Moscow attacking midfielder Aleksandr Golovin to England, according to sports.ru via Tribal Football.

Sources in Russia understand the Gunners are on the brink of bringing the highly rated 21-year old to the Emirates for fee of around £10.2 million.

However with the Tigers welcoming former CSKA and Russian national boss Leonid Slutsky to the club this week, it’s expected that the youngster will spend his first season on loan at Hull City.

Golovin’s agent Sandor Varga is keen for the deal to go through saying, “Arsène Wenger likes to take young players to develop. Golovin has a lot of potential and would be able to get a foothold in at Arsenal.”

After making his debut just three seasons ago, Golovin has already made his place in the CSKA squad as a regular starter, making 36 club appearances in the 2016/17 season. He was part of the side that won the Russian title in 2015/16.

Golovin has also featured under Leonid Slutsky when he was the Russian national manager, making 12 appearances since making his debut against Belarus in 2015.

In an interview with Russian publication ‘Sport’, Arsenal’s Eastern European scout Pavel Kurcherov said it would be a good move for him, despite the fact that Hull will be playing in the Championship next season.

“In terms of pressure and physical battles, it’s no different to the Russian Premier League and would be a good experience for Golovin.

“To play in front of packed crowds under his former coach for a couple of years and then move on to a mid-table EPL club would be the right move and anything can happen.”

Leonid Slutsky is expected to be unveiled to the media as the new Hull City manager when he arrives in the country later this week.
