Barnsley aiming to bring Liverpool starlet back to the club

Barnsley are looking to bring Liverpool’s Ryan Kent back to the club according to a report from the Sheffield Star.

The 20-year-old winger is very highly rated within Liverpool’s youth system but needed to go out on loan to get more first team experience. So after a successful period with Coventry City ended in 2016, he was given a chance at playing in the Sky Bet Championship when he made the move to Barnsley for the 2016/17 season. And it turned out to be a huge success as Kent made himself an integral part of the Tykes side, impressive as they finished 14th in the Championship.

But now Kent is back at Anfield after his loan ended and his future is currently uncertain. He wants a chance to show he can be a useful member of the Liverpool squad, he made it clear at the start of his loan with Barnsley that the aim was to impress the coaches back in Merseyside, but at the moment that seems unlikely especially if they do end up signing some of their targets. This means it appears that Kent may be on the road again and heading back out on loan.

And this is leading Barnsley to be interested in signing Kent and bringing him back to Oakwell. The Tykes are worried about losing a lot of their key players this summer after impressing this season so getting back one of players they thought they had lost would end up being a huge boost for the team.
