Hull City are aiming to fend off interest from Burnley for Michael Dawson as they want him as a potential replacement for Michael Keane according to a report from The Sun via the Hull Daily Mail.

It’s become an accepted part of being relegated that it will become likely that you will lose some of your star players. Some don’t want to drop down a division while the club will actively sell others as their wages are not sustainable now they have been relegated. And that seems to be happening to Hull now as many of their players have been linked with moves away with the latest looking like he could leave Humberside being Dawson.

He is being eyed by Burnley as they look for a replacement for Keane when he departs. The Lancashire club are becoming resigned to the fact they are set to lose their star man to another Premier League side, especially with Everton making him their number one target for this summer. This is why Burnley are now looking to sign a replacement for him and they have turned their eyes to Dawson.

This would be a potential bargain move for Burnley which means they could use to money they get for Keane on strengthening the other parts of their squad. It is believed that they would be able to get the former England international for around £2m and as he would be willing to leave Hull to get back in the Premier League, it shouldn’t be a complicated transfer to sort out.
