The Sun reports that Celtic, Brighton & Hove Albion and AFC Bournemouth are keen on a loan deal for Liverpool defender Joe Gomez. The 20-year-old is looking for more regular game time now that he has fully recovered from a serious injury.
The Argus states that Brighton are keen on a deal for Gomez to ensure they have some cover in the full back positions. The Seagulls had the likes of Fikayo Tomori and Sebastien Pocognoli on loan at the club, who also play in these positions, meaning they now need reinforcements within the back four.
Gomez made the move to Anfield from EFL side Charlton Athletic in 2015 for a fee just over £3million. A nasty knee injury not long after his arrival certainly meant his progress was halted. This has restricted him to just ten appearances for the Reds since making that big move, but a move away on loan next season seems like the most realistic chance to play more. Celtic are also keen, and Brendan Rodgers worked closely with the youngsters when he was manager at Anfield. Eddie Howe at AFC Bournemouth is a fan too, and he is known to promote young English talent. The Cherries are believed to be more in favour of a permanent deal, but would happily take him on loan as well.
Gomez made just three appearances last season in the Liverpool first team. They all came in the FA Cup, in two ties against Plymouth Argyle and then the home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers in January, which was his last performance.
