7 Premier League clubs line up £15million move for Leeds United striker

The Sun reports that seven clubs are keen on signing Leeds United striker Chris Wood this summer. The New Zealand international could be the subject of a series of £15million bids from a string of Premier League clubs.

Huddersfield Town, who won the Sky Bet Championship play-offs, appear to be the favourites to sign the player. However they face big competition from many now divisional rivals, most of which are established in the Premier League. Leeds face a battle on their hand to keep the player, who would love the chance to really test himself in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace are managerless, so that could perhaps put a spanner in the words regarding their intended interest. Claudio Ranieri and Frank de Boer are said to have held discussions over this role (Sky Sports), but the club scouting network may well have been monitoring the 25-year-old for some time. Southampton are also said to be keen, but they are supposedly lining up managerial replacements for Claude Puel (The Telegraph), so there is uncertainty at St Mary’s Stadium too.

Swansea City avoided relegation last time season and they are looking to add more fire power to their side. Wood could link up with Kyle Bartley, who impressed on loan at Elland Road last season. Stoke City, managed by Mark Hughes, are another side keen to add a more consistent goal threat into their ranks. Completing the list of seven are West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion. These two are also in need of additional goals as well. West Brom are still hoping to sign Charlie Taylor too, so the Baggies may complete a double swoop for the key Leeds duo.
