The Daily Mail reports that Sky Bet Championship duo Ipswich Town and Bolton Wanderers are keen on a loan deal for Manchester City midfielder Bersant Celina. The 20-year-old has just returned from a season-long loan at FC Twente, where he impressed in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Man City may wish to see the player in an English environment and the Championship is a league which may further enhance Celina. The Kosovo international has only made a handful of appearances in the Man City first team, so a loan move away next season appears to be the most likely solution.
Ipswich are certainly looking to improve their squad over the summer and are likely to utilise the loan market if at all possible. Like last season, they managed to lure Tom Lawrence from Leicester City, going on to become a star player at Portman Road. With him presented a huge hole that needs filling, perhaps the creative Celina would help bridge that gap. Bolton on the other hand are looking to add more quality now they are stepping up a division. Phil Parkinson clearly appreciates the creativity that the youngster could add to his Trotters squad.
Last season, Celina netted five times for Twente, which included a strike in the 2-2 home draw with Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven as recently as April. Highlights of that game, including the strike last minute strike (fourth goal), can be seen in the video at the bottom of this page, providing a flavour to Ipswich and Bolton fans as to the player you may soon be witnessing first hand.
