Joey Barton – QPR

A name familiar to football fans across England, not always for the right reasons, but familiar nonetheless. There is no doubting that Barton’s level is above the Championship and the hard-working midfielder has shown why as his performances have improved at the business end of the season. It is hard to imagine anyone will be more fired up for this one than Barton, you’ve just got to hope, with his experience, that he channels that passion in the right way. If he does then there’s every chance QPR will be a Premier League team again

Craig Bryson – Derby

Bryson deservedly made the Championship team of the year after enjoying a magnificent season in the Derby midfield. His incredible engine, passing ability and eye for goal have made him a firm fan favourite in Black and White. His hat-trick against East Midland rivals Nottingham Forest showed all that he is capable of as he etched his name into Derby folklore. With 16 goals this season and after missing the semi-final second leg with a knock the Scot will be hungry to finish the season on a high, and try his trade in the top flight next year.
