Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam rumoured with Championship summer move

With Sky Bet, Championship side Cardiff City are the favourites to sign Charlie Adam from Stoke City this summer. Whilst he remains an odds on price to stay at the Bet365 Stadium, he is available at 7/2 to make the move to the Welsh capital.

The 31-year-old, who was born in Dundee, is also priced at 9/2 to make the move to Ladbrokes Premiership side Rangers. It remains to be seen exactly where Adam will be playing his football next season. He did find it hard to play as regularly as he’d have liked last season.

The former Blackpool and Liverpool playmaker started 17 top flight games last season. He has been at Stoke since 2012 following a £5million move from Anfield. He is perhaps looking for more regular game time at this stage of his career. He certainly possesses experience of the Championship, mainly from his time at Blackpool where he impressed enough to earn a £9million move to Liverpool, then managed by Kenny Dalglish.

It is well known that Neil Warnock is looking to heavily improve his Cardiff squad this summer. After he inherited a side battling relegation, he guided them to mid-table comfort with many games to spare. He has made his feelings known that he would’ve only stayed on if the board agreed to back him in his quest to guide them into the Premier League. The signing of Charlie Adam would certainly resemble a real statement of intent. Rickie Lambert however was seen as exactly that at the time, so they’d be hoping this possible move works out better.
