West Ham United slap £8million pricetag on former Leeds United star – Brighton bound

West Ham United have set their asking price if any clubs are interested in signing Scottish midfielder Robert Snodgrass this summer.

According to ClaretandHugh, The Hammers are looking to receive at least £8million for the midfielder, who failed to impress after joining the club from Hull City in the January transfer market.

Prior to his spell at Hull, Snodgrass enjoyed several years at both Norwich City and Leeds United.

Snodgrass made the move to the London Stadium after Dmitri Payet left the club. Snodgrass had originally caught the eye after an impressive first half of the season at Hull City, where he was the club’s top goal scorer.

However he failed to live up to the expectations he came with at West Ham United, and the Scotland midfielder failed to score a single Premier League goal for the club in his 25 appearances for the club.

Despite his poor performances in the second half of the season, a number of different clubs are interested in securing the signature of Snodgrass.

Premier League sides Southampton and West Brom are among the early front runners for the midfielder, but newly promoted Brighton & Hove Albion are also said to be interested.

The Seagulls finished second in the Sky Bet Championship this season, and Chris Hughton is currently looking to strengthen his squad ahead of their first ever season in the Premier League.

Hughton is looking for Premier League experience, and that is exactly what Robert Snodgrass could provide.

However, with other cemented top flight clubs interested in him, it will not be easy for Hughton to secure his signature.
