Norwich City and Aston Villa on alert after seven figure price tag slapped on Fleetwood Town defender

Norwich City and Aston Villa have been alerted to the availability of Fleetwood Town’s Amari’i Bell after the club revealed they would accept a seven-figure offer for him according to a report on Page 57 of the print edition of The Sunday Mercury.

The Cod Army shocked everyone this season with an incredibly campaign that saw them qualify for the Sky Bet League One play-offs instead of fighting against relegation like what was tipped before the start of the season. They would eventually fall in the play-offs to Bradford City but even with that, it was a brilliant season for the club and it’s players.

But recently one of their star performers, the left-back Bell, has been attracting interest from teams such as Aston Villa and Norwich. He was one of their best players this season but he only has a year left on his contract meaning that he could end up leaving Highbury next season on a free transfer unless they sell up. But this seems to be something that Fleetwood are coming to terms with and may sell him in this transfer window.

But the Lancashire club are going to make sure they can get as much money as possible for Bell as they reportedly will only accept an offer that is worth seven figures. This has put both Norwich and Aston Villa on alert as both could make moves for the defender on this valuation, though the Canaries are more likely to wrap up the deal as Villa would only go in for it if they can sell Jordan Amavi.
