Riley, Bradford City set to go in for Manchester United defender

Bradford City set to go in for Manchester United defender

Bradford City are set to go in for Manchester United’s Joe Riley according to a report from journalist Alan Nixon.

The Bantams once again came agonisingly close to getting promoted from Sky Bet League One, once again falling to Millwall though this time it was in the final at Wembley. But they cannot dwell on that painful loss for too long as they must prepare their squad for next season so they can make sure they get promoted this time around and they are now looking at players who can improve the squad.

One player that Bradford are interested in and could make a move for in the next few days is Riley, a 20-year-old defender who is currently contracted to Manchester United. While he is highly rated after coming through their academy, he has never played in a competitive fixture for them. He did however get some action with Sheffield United when he moved on loan to them but injuries dogged that transfer and meant he was never able to fulfill his potential at Bramall Lane.

There have been reports that Sheffield United would like to bring Riley back to the club to get a better look at him but now Bradford are also moving in on the talented youngster. They want to get as many top quality players in as possible so they don’t have to go through the lottery that is the play-offs again and while Riley doesn’t have much experience, he has plenty of talent and would be a boost for the team. It would be a loan deal as Manchester United aren’t willing to sell just yet but even a temporary spell would be good for both player and club.
