Maguire, Tottenham Hotspur odds on to secure signing of Championship centre back

Tottenham Hotspur odds on to secure signing of Championship centre back

Sky Bet make Tottenham Hotspur as odds on favourites to sign Hull City defender Harry Maguire this summer. He is best priced at 10/11 to make the move to North London following the Tigers’ relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season.

Hull suffered a 7-1 defeat to Tottenham in one of their final games of their 2016/17 Premier League campaign, but Maguire was not involved in this game. Marco Silva has left the KCOM Stadium to take over at Watford, and the former Sheffield United centre back may be remaining in the top flight too.

To put into perspective, Maguire is priced at 4/1 alone just to remain a Hull City player next season. It would appear Spurs, who’ll play their home games at Wembley Stadium for a season, is his most likely destination. This is because Leicester City are second favourites at 11/2, followed by a reunion with Silva at Watford, available at 7/1.

The 24-year-old was certainly one of the shining lights in what was ultimately a disappointing season for Hull. He would make 36 appearances in total for the club over the last year, scoring three goals in the process. They came in the 4-2 victory over relegated Middlesbrough and then the defeat at Stoke City, both coming within a ten-day period in April. He also netted in the 2-1 win at Bristol City in the EFL Cup, which can be seen in the video below.

So, if the odds are to be trusted (and of course they always shouldn’t be), then Harry Maguire will be pulling on the famous Tottenham Hotspur jersey in the coming months.
