Jordan Botaka is out of contract at Elland Road at the end of the season, and it seems like his time at Leeds United is well and truly up.

According to Lyall Thomas, a journalist at Sky Sports, has tweeted, saying that Botaka is expecting to head back to Holland to pursue his footballing career, with a number of Eredivise clubs interested in securing his signature.

Botaka has failed to make a major impression during his time at Leeds United after he moved to the club in 2015 for an undisclosed fee.

He signed a two year deal, joining from Dutch side Excelsior, where he appeared 73 times, helping them remain in the top flight.

Botaka’s career at Leeds United got off to a slow start, as he struggled to impress Steve Evans, who was in charge at Elland Road at the time.

He failed to get any sort of consistency in the side, and only appeared 13 times in his first season at the club.

That was to be it for Botaka at Leeds United. In August of 2016, he completed a loan move to Charlton Athletic, who were competing in Sky Bet League One following their relegation the previous season.

He became more of a regular at the Valley, scoring two goals for the club.

However, he failed to impress enough to convince Leeds to keep him on, and it seems that his time in England is over.

Success may be hard to come by for Botaka in domestic football, but he boasts an excellent international record.

He has represented the Democratic Republic of Congo 10 times, scoring four goals.
