According to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon Southampton “Fancy Aaron Mooy” and he could be part of a deal for Virgil Van Dijk should Southampton choose to sell him. Brighton are also highly interested in the Aussie international and are considering a bid in the region of £10m for the player.
Aaron Mooy took the Championship by storm last season and played a major part in Huddersfield’s promotion. He scored four goals and got seven assists for The Terriers. He will forever be a Huddersfield Town legend after not only guiding them to promotion but also scoring the winning goal at Elland Road in the fierce West Yorkshire derby!
Southampton are one of the South coast clubs that are interested in him. He could be part of a deal for defender Virgil Van Dijk as Man City want him and Southampton want Mooy.
Southampton are keen on £10m-rated City midfielder Aaron Mooy (26), who could be used as bait in a deal for Van Dijk. [@reluctantnicko]

This would mean that Huddersfield would need to look elsewhere for a new central midfielder. The West Yorkshire club are being linked with Readings Danny Williams who is a very similar player to Aaron Mooy and would fill in the gap he’s left perfectly.

Brighton and Hove Albion are also very interested in Aaron Mooy. The Seagulls went up as runners-up last season and like Huddersfield are preparing for their first ever season in the Premier League. They currently have Dale Stephens, Beram Kayal and Steven Sidwell in their squad and the addition of Aaron Mooy would top off an already great looking midfield.
Around £10m is the fee being thrown about for Aaron Mooy and it appears that all three clubs would be willing to spend that in order to get him. So who he chooses to sign for may ultimately come down to personal preference.
