As is the same with any vacant managers position, rumours are flying all over the place about who will become the next manager of Leeds United.
Everyday it seems that there is a new boss linked with the job, or at least a different name becoming favourite.
We take a look at the five managers who are currently in the top five favourites to take charge at Elland Road:
5) Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink – 18/1: The Dutch manager has history with Leeds. He played for the Whites between 1997/99, playing 69 games. Despite his decorated playing career, Hasselbaink is not the most experience manager out there. His first job in management was at Belgian side Royal Antwerp. He only spent one season at the club, before turning down a deal in May 2014. In November of the same year, he joined Burton Albion, who were in Sky Bet League Two at the time. He helped the side to promotion, winning the league in his first season in charge. In December 2015, Hasselbaink left to join Queens Park Rangers in the Sky Bet Championship. He guided QPR to a mid table finish in the league, before being relieved of his duties in November 2016.
4) Aitor Karanka – 6/1: Aitor Karanka has previously been odds on favourites for the Leeds United job, but it seems that not many bookies fancy his chances of taking over at Elland Road. Karanka led Middlesbrough to the Play-Off final in 2014/15, where they lost to Norwich City. The following year Boro finished in second place in the Sky Bet Championship, meaning they earned automatic promotion to the Premier League. Unfortunately for the Spaniard he lost his job earlier this year, and Middlesbrough were eventually relegated. The Spanish manager is said to be interested in a move back to the Sky Bet Championship.
