Three Sky Bet Championship clubs chasing third tier defender

Three Sky Bet Championship clubs are interested in signing Fleetwood Town defender Amari’i Bell.

Norwich City, Birmingham City, and Aston Villa are all rumoured to be interested in signing the Fleetwood full back, who plays in the Sky Bet League One.

Amari’i Bell is a former Birmingham City player, and the Birmingham Mail reports that Harry Redknapp is interested in bringing him back to St Andrews.

Bell struggled to impress during his time in the Sky Bet Championship, but his performances at Fleetwood Town this season have caught the eye of second tier clubs.

The left back helped the Fylde Coast side to reach the Play-Offs in Sky Bet League One, before they were beaten 1-0 on aggregate by Bradford City.

It is not just his defensive capabilities that have impressed. Bell is an attacking full back, who has helped his sides at both ends of the pitch.

The Birmingham Mail reports that Fleetwood would be looking to receive a fee of seven figures to try and prize Bell away from Highbury.

Bell began his career at Birmingham, making just one appearance for the Blues.

He spent the earlier days of his career getting loaned out.

He joined Nuneaton Town in 2013, before enjoying a stint at Kidderminster Harriers in 2014.

The same year, he spent time at Mansfield Town and Swindon Town.

Bell also spent time at Gillingham before completing a permanent move to Fleetwood Town following the conclusion of his contract at Birmingham City.
