Newcastle United make bid for young Ligue 1 winger

Newcastle United have submitted a £12million bid for Metz winger Ismaila Sarr according to several reports coming out of France.

France Football reports that the bid includes £12million up front, as well as bonuses.

However, the French side are looking to get £15million for their young asset, so they are said to have rejected this bid.

Ismailia Sarr is a talented winger, who is touted as a big star for the future.

At the tender age of 19, he has impressed in the French top flight, appearing 31 times for Metz.

In these 31 games, he has scored five goals.

His experiences already extend beyond club football.

During his youth days, he made three appearances for the Senegal U23 team , before earning a call up to the senior squad in 2016.

Since making his debut against Namibia in September 2016, he has appeared six times.

Sarr scored his first international goal against Libya at the beginning of this year.

He has been compared to Liverpool and Senegal star Sadio Mane, whom he reportedly replaced on his Senegal debut.

Mane himself used to play for Metz during his time in France, and also came through the academy at Generation Foot, the same place that Sarr learned his trade.

Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has made it clear that he is looking to add some pace to the wings, and they have already confirmed the signing of Ghanaian international Christian Atsu from Chelsea.

Ismaila Sarr may be young, but he is wise beyond his years, and certainly has the capabilities of becoming a big Premier League player in the future.
