Leeds United fans react to Jonny Howson news

Earlier today, the72 reported that Jonny Howson had rejected a new contract at Norwich City, increasing speculation that he is on his way out of the club.

The Norfolk club have now said that they will “reluctantly listen to offers for Howson,” following the rejection of a contract.

This is good news for Leeds United, who have been linked with a move for their former man in recent weeks.

Jonny Howson departed Leeds United in the winter transfer window of 2012, when he joined the Canaries. Since then, he has become a regular feature for Norwich, making 187 appearances. During that time, he has scored 23 goals, and provided 19 assists for his team mates.

Leeds United were Howson’s boyhood club. He came through the youth system at Elland Road, and made over 200 appearances for the Yorkshire club. His spell at the Whites saw him find the back of the net 27 times, as well as setting up 22 for his team mates.

But does his previous history with the club mean that he would be a good fit for the current Leeds United squad?
