Leeds United appointed Victor Orta as their director of football earlier today, and the Spaniard has said that he has great confidence that his time at Elland Road will be a roaring success.

The backroom staff at Leeds United has changed a lot in the recent week following the completion of Andrea Radrizzani’s takeover of the club.

Orta joins the club just four days after Angus Kinnear was appointed as the managing director.

Leeds United are still on the search for a new manager, and following Orta’s arrival from Middlesbrough, Aitor Karanka has taken over as the immediate favourite, as the two worked together at the Riverside.

Victor Orta has spoken about his arrival at Leeds United, and it is fair to say that he is excited about what the future holds.

As quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Orta said: “I am excited by the opportunity to become director of football at a great club like Leeds United.”

“Once I had met with Andrea Radrizzani and spoken to him about his plans to take the club forward, I knew that this was the right move for me and I am confident that we can achieve great things in the coming years.”

Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani also commented on Orta’s arrival, and the optimism was shared.

He said: “I am delighted to welcome Victor to Elland Road. I have been impressed by his knowledge of the game, his extensive scouting network and his desire to help us achieve our objective of getting Leeds United back to the Premier League.”
