Paul Lambert, Paul Lambert leaves Wolverhampton Wanderers

Paul Lambert leaves Wolverhampton Wanderers

Yesterday (May 30), the72 reported that Paul Lambert was set to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers in the coming days, and we were right.

The Scottish manager has today been relieved of his duties at the club with immediate effect.

His departure was confirmed on the club’s official website shortly before midday.

Lambert’s future has been up in the air for a number of weeks now, and a statement on the club’s site states that the decision to get rid of Lambert was made following “a football review which took place at the end of the season.”

As well as Lambert, three members of his backroom staff will also be departing the club.

First team coaches Stuart Taylor and Rob Edwards, as well as Head of Sport Science Tony Daley will all leave the club with Paul Lambert.

The statement on the club’s website states that the club “would like to place on record its thanks to Paul for his dedication and professionalism during his time at the club, which included some memorable victories, and wish him all the best in his future career.”

They also stated that the other three members of staff who are departing will be sent away with their best wishes.

A statement on the club’s new manager can be expected in the near future, but reports all over England are suggesting that they have already agreed a deal to bring Nuno Santo to the club.
