Wolves, Bristol City and Fulham chasing after Senegalese striker

Bristol City, Fulham and Wolves are all chasing after the signature of Angers’ Famara Diedhiou according to a report from French publication L’Equipe via Sports Witness.

The 24-year-old striker is coming off the back of a solid season with Angers, scoring eight goals in Ligue 1 this season. But while that is a very reputable division, the money on offer in the Sky Bet Championship can lure players away from even the top tier of French football and now three teams from England are hoping to tempt Diedhiou to jump across the Channel to join them.

The three teams looking to sign are Bristol City, Fulham and Wolves. All need new strikers for next season and with prices going up for players based in England, they are looking abroad to find their man. Bristol City need a replacement after loan star Tammy Abraham returned to Chelsea after the end of his loan, Fulham have never really replaced Moussa Dembele and Ross McCormack after their departures while Wolves need a star man up front if they want to challenge for promotion.

And while Diedhou’s contract still has a lot of time to run, it is set to expire in the summer of 2020, a move for him is still likely. While Angers would like to keep him, it is believed that if the players wants to leave they won’t stand in his way. So now it is up to the trio to come up with an offer that would tempt Diedhiou to head to England.
