The 5 early favourites to succeed Garry Monk as Leeds United head coach

Marco Silva has recently resigned from his role as Hull City manager according to reports. This is expected to be officially confirmed in the coming days or maybe even hours. Although he is officially the second favourite for the hotseat at Elland Road, there are big reports linking him with other jobs too. Porto, in his native Portugal, are on the lookout for a new boss, as are Premier League sides Crystal Palace and Watford. One of those are likely to be his next destination.

Another name that is often thrown around the managerial vacancy debate at most EFL clubs is Nigel Pearson. He is the third-favourite with Sky Bet at the time of writing at 8/1. He is much shorter to make a return to Middlesbrough, the club where he ended his playing career. Although as mentioned, Monk is the favourite for that role at this stage. Pearson is looking to rebuild his career following his departure from Derby County in October last year after a disagreement with chairman Mel Morris. He, like Karanka, has won promotion out of this league with Leicester City.
