Sky Bet Championship club Birmingham City are being linked with a move for out of favour FC Augsburg defender Daniel Opare according to the Birmingham Mail.
The 26-year-old Accra born right-back has endured a turbulent time at the Augsburg Arena and the player could be set to end his miserable spell in the German Bundesliga this summer.
With the defender on the fringes of the FC Augsburg first team this season, Opare found himself loaned out to French club Lens in a bid to benefit from regular first team football.
Opare’s time with The Blood and Golds has now come to an end and it has been reported that Sky Bet Championship club Birmingham City would like to sign the player as the club look towards a much more fruitful campaign in 2017/2018 after avoiding the threat of relegation on the final day of the season.
The full-back started his career in his homeland with Ashanti Gold before playing in Tunisia with Sfax. Opare then spent time in the Real Madrid B team before moving on to Standard Liege and FC Porto. The player joined FC Augsburg in summer 2015 but Opare has barely featured for the German club.
Opare was once listed as one of the most exciting teenagers in world football and it is not too late to re-launch his career with Birmingham City.
