QPR receive £500K bid for 17-year-old starlet

QPR have received a £500K bid from Everton for Josh Bowler according to a report from Teamtalk.

The 17-year-old winger is seen as one of the brightest talents in the QPR academy and has recently shown signs of breaking through into the first team. He has signed a professional contract with the club and made his senior debut for the team in the final game of the season against Norwich City. It is believed that head coach Ian Holloway rates him highly and sees a big future for him at Loftus Road.

But it seems like Bowler’s future will be away from West London as a Premier League team has made a bid for him. Arsenal and Manchester City have been interested in him for a while but it is Everton who have made the first bid for him. This report suggests they have made a bid worth an initial £500K but with all the add-ons present in the deal, it could rise to £3m.

Right now though, that might not be enough for QPR. The R’s may realise that there might not be too much they can do to stop Bowler heading to Everton or any of the other big clubs interested in him but they are planning to get as much as possible before letting one of their star youngsters leave. And they believe that the offer made for Bowler isn’t enough and will be holding out for more before they accept an offer from Everton or any other interested side.
