According to reports from Cambridge News, Premier League side West Ham United are preparing a £1 million bid for Oxford United youngster Ryan Ledson.

The former Cambridge United loanee has attracted attention from the Hammers after impressive performances in Sky Bet League One this season.

Ledson is a former Everton player, who joined Cambridge United on loan in November 2015.

After a successful season with the Sky Bet League Two side, Ledson moved to recently promoted Oxford United from Everton for an undisclosed fee.

Ledson has impressed in the midfield throughout the season, and he even won the EFL young player of the month award in February.

Website WestHamWorld report that the Premier League club would pay £750,000 up front, with a further £250,000 to follow depending on future appearances.

Oxford United will also look to include a sell on fee as part of the deal, with reports surfacing that it will be that of 5%. Ledson will also be loaned back out to Oxford United for the next season as the bid to earn promotion from the third tier of English football.

Ryan Ledson is an experienced player at youth level when it comes to representing his country. The 19 year old midfielder has amassed an amazing 37 caps for England youth, representing them at every age group from U16s all the way up to U20s.
